GCMS co-hosted the 2019 Alstom GT User’s Conference on January 28-31. This annual conference is held to provide our customers and partners access to valuable information. We want to train and equip you with all the necessary components to succeed within the gas and turbine industry. Prior to the event, we wrote a blog featuring a quick synopsis about each of our partners at the conference from their products to their stories. Now that it has been a couple weeks since the conference took place, we want to share some of the key takeaways from this year’s event. Our main presentation was given by Mike Tice, Director of Field Services at GCMS, and consisted of the following:
GCMS Safety Review
During this session we overviewed the General Safety of GCMS, recording no OSHA Recordable Accidents from 2012-2018 and over 110,000 recorded man hours in 2018 Alone. To ensure excellent safety, we practice dedicated, daily site safety meetings, mandatory annual safety training of corporate policies.
Alstom Market Entry & Opportunity Capitalization
GCMS personnel are the first technicians to complete a GT24 OEM independent Repair-inspection in our international office location in Mexico.
Taking a Closer Look at the GCMS Team/GCMS Demonstrated Performance & Experience
Examining GCMS’s performance in the harshest conditions in the Middle East provides insight into the quality of our work: “Understanding the different needs in scheduled maintenance between the summer and winter months, especially when it comes to operating efficiencies, you can understand how differently each unit can behave based on the time of year.”
“Making changes to the OEM specified general maintenance schedule has allowed us to maintain manageable differential pressures, minimizing unit trips and allowing for sustainable, continued operations.”
OEM Trained Technicians
100% of our OEM trained technicians have an average of 10+ years of industry experience and 80% with 20+ years experience.
Experienced, Power Industry Craft
We have the ability to Staff Up to 3X C-Inspections, 16% with 5+ Years in Alstom Fleet, 51% with 10+ Years Experience, and 33% with 15+ Years Experience.
A Case for Preventative and Predictive Maintenance Plans
With the future in mind, GCMS has come up with preventative maintenance plans in the event of accidents, emergencies, and necessary recovery action. Some of our plans include: Environmental Considerations in Maintenance Planning, System Design for a Real-World Environment, Inlet Air Filtration Systems, Increases in Reliability and Availability for Plants, Reliability & Availability Drives Increased Production & Performance, Experience-Based Solutions Prevent Majorly Field Conditions, and Premature filter replacement has been shown to cause unit shutdowns.
Our extensive experience includes Alstom technologies:
• GT11, GT13, GT24, GT 26
Other technology we service:
• GE, Siemens, Westinghouse, Mitsubishi: this includes all center line equipment, generator, steam turbines, auxiliary systems, and controls.
• GCMS is capable of providing and coordinating your comprehensive maintenance program.
• The key difference between GCMS and the OEM: More Flexibility, More End User Input, Less Overhead Costs.
